The beach has played a part in Danielle and Michael’s love story from the very start. The couple met on the beach when Danielle was sitting with a mutual friend. They met up again later that same night at a beach bar and have been together ever since. Michael proposed when the couple was on vacation in Key West. His plan to take a romantic sailboat ride was sidelined because of the heavy wind. So, the couple took a walk in Mallory Square, where Michael popped the question. When it came time to start planning their wedding, having it at the beach was a no-brainer. The couple met at the beach, live at the beach, and travel to other beaches as often as they can.
They decided to go with a beach theme, of course, and this included everything from starfish and seashells to oyster shells and driftwood. Their color palette consisted of blush, navy and white, with pops of silver when they could incorporate it. Coventry Crossing was brought in to create elegant bouquets and centerpieces with a mix of blush pinks, white flowers, hydrangeas, roses, peonies and lamb’s ear.
Danielle got ready in the Cove Suites across from The Breakwaters at The Dunes. This made it convenient for the bridal party and guests because everything happened in one spot, including the ceremony and reception. Danielle’s dress was a unique combination of a gown designed by Pronovias and a skirt that layered on top created by Simplicity Boutique. The first look took place on the beach before the couple headed to the ceremony to recite the vows they had written.
The happy couple surprised their wedding guests with a first dance that they had been practicing for months with the help of the groom’s aunt, a dance instructor. The result was simply amazing!
They found several ways to personalize the big day and truly make it their own. One of the ways included their signature drink. Danielle had a friend paint a picture of the couple’s Rottweiler named Bailey, which served as the drink’s inspiration. Another way was through photographs. The couple had placed photos of themselves growing up side by side throughout the venue. Finally, they also added a personal touch to their party favors, which included koozies and a cookie bar featuring cookies that were made by relatives.
After their big day, the couple set off to St. Lucia to celebrate their honeymoon.
What We love:
The Bailey! When your fur babies can’t be by your side on the big day, there are a ton of creative ways to incorporate them! The trend we’re seeing this season? The signature drink! What better way to highlight your pup or kitty than to create a custom cocktail in their honor for guests to enjoy?
