Young love shines with this couple, who met in grade school, dated in high school and college, and became engaged at a party celebrating their recent graduation. Rob included the couple’s beloved dog, Lucy, who appeared during the party with a gift for Heather: a sign stating “My humans are getting married.”
What we love about this shore wedding is the vintage mermaid theme, starting with the invitations all the way through to Heather’s whimsical dress and bouquet. Is that a dinglehopper we see holding the table numbers?! Heather worked with her vendors to carry through a theme of mint green and mist blue, and opted to go with a vintage shore staple, The Flanders Hotel, to further enhance the theme.
The couple opted to be married with the sea to their backs on the beach in front of The Flanders, followed by drinks, dinner and dancing through the evening. Heather’s bouquet was a unique blend of sea grass, starfish, pearls, feathers and coral, which perfectly accented her Calla Blanche gown.
Tables were decorated with bottles of sand and messages, mint-green linens and unique seashells, driftwood and netting. There were gadgets and gizmos aplenty as treasure chests brimming with jewels and pearls accented tables and corners throughout. The bride and groom even customized their champagne flutes with sea pearls and a mint-green starfish.
Speaking of champagne, the groom brought in his love for Philly with a “Philly Philly” signature drink, and our modern-day mermaid bride toasted with “Mermaid Water” – Prosecco and Blue Curacao.
And if the night wasn’t enchanting enough, a mystical fog covered the dance floor as the couple began their first dance, just like when the fog rolls through the beach at moonlight.
OK, moving back to reality. Some more of our favorite details included a shore staple favor, Johnson’s Popcorn and mermaid bottle openers for guests to take home.
The couple posed for some must-have photos in front of the lights of the boardwalk amusement park, and then spent the evening dancing among their closest friends and family. Following this fairy-tale evening, the couple set off on a ship of their own for a honeymoon cruise through the Caribbean – like a vintage mermaid, of course.
What we love:
We love a shore wedding. And we seriously love a shore wedding that takes aspects of the shore, colors, seashells, driftwood and more, and keeps it classy. From the pearl accents to the mint-green and mist-blue colors that carried throughout, we love Heather’s vintage mermaid vision. Did we mention the dinglehoppers?
