Stacy and Conor’s love story is a long and winding road that proves that two hearts that are meant to be together will always find their way back to one another. They both grew up in Cape May, attended elementary school together, and dated for two years in college. Conor spent some time living in California, but they eventually found their way back to each other when he moved back home. They had their second “first date” on 12/13/14, and both realized their spark was still very much alive. A few years later, Conor proposed while the couple was on a Labor Day weekend trip to Lewes, Del.
When it came time to plan their wedding, selecting a venue in their historic and beautiful hometown was inevitable. As a winemaker and former chef, food and beverage were important to Conor. After meeting with the team at Hotel Alcott, they were sold on the talented culinary team and its historic presence.
After a private first look in the courtyard of the Hotel Alcott where they exchanged gifts, Stacy and Conor joined their bridal party on a trolley to pose for photos at various landmarks throughout town.
Stacy walked down the aisle of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church wearing a fit-and-flare ivory Maggie Sottero dress with beaded lace, Swarovski crystals, and a tiered skirt with a cathedral veil. To honor her late father, she also wore a pendant with her dad’s signature on her ankle so he could be there with her as her younger brother escorted her down the aisle.
Greenery, succulents and lavender completed the couple’s vision of clean, classic and formal with unique touches of Cape May throughout. Including the favor of local fudge!
The Bake Works designed a four-tier cake featuring alternating layers of smooth frosting with pin dots and textured lines with a different flavor for each layer.
As Stacy and Conor begin their first dance, the DJ encouraged them to stop and take a look from the dance floor to all their closest friends and family who came to celebrate with them. Following the perfect day in Cape May, the couple took to Europe for a romantic honeymoon.
What we love:
This couple with history pays homage to local history. The Hotel Alcott is the perfect place for a classic beach wedding with the perfect amount of history and an abundance of Cape May romance. Customized cake topper with antique bicycles? Yes! Cigars on the veranda? Yes!
